EDMAAJ 2 Students launch the initiative ‘The Law is Our Shield Against Bullying’ to enhance legal awareness among youth in Nablus.”

As part of the community initiatives implemented by the Youth Project “EDMAAJ 2,” seven students from the second group launched a new initiative titled “Law is Our Shield Against Bullying.” This initiative aims to enhance legal awareness among youth in Nablus Governorate, highlight the legal implications of bullying, and emphasize the importance of treating others with respect and dignity.

The idea for the initiative stemmed from direct field observations made by the participating students, which revealed a significant number of young people experiencing various forms of bullying. This prompted them to propose an awareness initiative that would empower the youth to know their legal rights and inform them of the actions they can take if they experience bullying, thereby enhancing their ability to legally defend themselves and deal with this phenomenon consciously.

Within the framework of community partnership, the Madarat Center for Community Development coordinated with a group of partnering civil society organizations, including Aibal Club, Seeds Association, Mount Fire Club, the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution, alongside the center itself, to facilitate the implementation of the initiative and ensure effective outreach to the targeted youth groups.

The initiative included a youth discussion session and brainstorming, in which a select group of students participated, during which a final recommendation paper was formulated that reflects an ambitious vision and practical solutions for addressing the phenomenon of bullying from a legal and community perspective, balancing legal deterrence with rehabilitation and social reform.
