About the Center

Madarat Center for Community Development is a Palestinian non-governmental, non-profit organization established in 2017. It aims to promote development issues in civil, economic, social, educational, and legal fields.

The center specializes in entrepreneurship and sustainable development within community sectors, particularly focusing on women and youth, in line with the most urgent priorities and needs. It operates based on a modern and stable value system that adheres to governance standards and principles of equality, fairness, transparency, and innovation. The economic and social empowerment of youth and women, as well as the promotion of citizenship and community participation, are among the institution’s key development goals.

Madarat Center has gained the trust of various international and local donors, including USAID, the European Union (EU), Oxfam (through the Palestinian Agricultural Development Association), the European Endowment for Democracy (EED), Sada Youth Foundation (Oman), the Global Charity Foundation, ALA’ARD Foundation, and private sector organizations such as the Palestine Development Foundation (affiliated with the Palestinian Investment Fund), the Palestinian Telecommunications Group, and Beitti Company.

Recently, in 2023 and 2024, the center developed many modern operational guides, policies, and procedures to enhance its capacities and improve the quality of its programs in accordance with international standards. These include:

– Administrative procedures and policies manual.

– Transparent and advanced financial policy.

– Media and communication strategy.

– Gender equality and social inclusion policy.

– Code of conduct to the center.

– Volunteer Policy.

– Electronic complaints system.

Madarat Center primarily operates in Nablus in addition to implements programs and activities across all 11 governorates of the West Bank.

The center carries out programs and builds partnerships focused on community participation, promoting civic values, volunteerism, economic and social empowerment, accountability, democracy, human rights, the rule of law, and active citizenship.
