Accountability on Youth Electoral Promises within the Democracy and Human Rights Program at Madarat Center for Community Development in Nablus is an initiative aimed at strengthening the role of youth in monitoring the electoral process and ensuring that political actors fulfill their promises regarding youth-related issues. This activity is a key part of the center’s efforts to build a democratic civil society where the voices and demands of young people are heard and respected.

General Objective:

To enhance youth participation in political life by activating their role in democratic accountability, particularly in tracking electoral promises made concerning youth, and ensuring these promises are translated into tangible post-election policies.

Main Activities:

1. Establishing community-based youth accountability teams specialized in monitoring and tracking candidates’ or political parties’ promises related to youth.
2. Analyzing electoral platforms to assess how well they address youth priorities (education, employment, freedoms, participation, etc.).
3. Organizing dialogue sessions and accountability forums between youth and local decision-makers to follow up on the implementation of those promises.
4. Preparing and publishing monitoring reports that evaluate the extent to which political actors have fulfilled their electoral commitments to youth.
5. Launching media and community campaigns to raise youth awareness of their political rights and motivate them to engage in public affairs.
