Organizing a Youth Open Day Against Bullying at Al-Wehda Park – Bezoor Association
Nablus – Members of the Idmaj Youth Project team, in partnership with the Bezoor Association and the “Jusoor” Program for Coexistence in Nablus, organized a youth open day titled “We Are All United Against Bullying.” This event was held as part of the community initiatives of the Idmaj Project, which aims to enhance participation, citizenship, and the integration of youth and women in public civil life. The project is implemented by the Madarat Center for Community Development in collaboration with the Active Citizenship ACA program – Global Communities Foundation.
The youth open day saw the participation of Idmaj Youth Project members, volunteers from the Bezoor Association, and activists from the Jusoor Program for Coexistence. The participants expressed their strong interest in activities that promote citizenship and community engagement as tools for community-building, particularly in light of the challenging circumstances in Palestine.
The event aimed to raise awareness among the community, especially young people, about the dangers and various forms of bullying and the importance of combating it. Additionally, it sought to enhance the capacities and skills of Idmaj Youth Project members in advocating against bullying and to encourage civil society organizations and their volunteers to integrate anti-bullying activities into their community programs.
Nahla Yameen, Executive Director of the Bezoor Association, emphasized the importance of addressing this harmful social phenomenon, particularly among young people. She expressed the association’s willingness to support and host any initiatives aimed at addressing and changing behaviors that pose risks and harm to society.
The youth open day was implemented as part of a community initiative designed by Idmaj Youth Project members after receiving a series of training sessions. Through these trainings, they developed a deep understanding of the forms and dangers of bullying and how to combat it. These ideas were translated into action through the open day’s activities, as well as through the creation of awareness messages and designs, which will be displayed in Al-Wehda Park at the Bezoor Association.
